In his new project, Oleg Ustinov continued to experiment in the field of abstract painting. The artist refers to the image of the event as an explosion, when the opportunity of the interpretation arise as it cools. In the new Ustinov`s works an explosion – the figure has the properties of light reflection, as "fresh explosion" which has not yet been "fixed" or "superexplosion", which is difficult to sketch. This characteristic of explosion confirms its flicker between artistic directions - it looks like a hole - transition between abstract expressionism and pop art. Using an archetypal abstract elements, referring to interoverflow of painting and collage, the author trying to create an effect of guessing the layers, where the totality of elements claims an opportunity of hypothetical attendance in the different spatial and historical periods simultaneously, as a hole -portal and the simultaneous presence in several points. The absence of unnecessary visual information in conjunction with the mysterious uncertainty of the symbol creating a space for the interpretative maneuver. Because each of the explosions, when significant events occur simultaneously, rapidly and clearly, need to be be reflected and historicized.
